It is now three weeks since 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop disappeared.

A housemate of Pheobe Bishop who had been taken into custody by police investigating the disappearance of the Bundaberg teenager has been released without charge.

Police on Wednesday said James Wood, 34, had been assisting authorities in the search for the 17-year-old, who went missing while on her way to the airport.

On Thursday morning, police confirmed Wood had been released from police custody without charge.

“Detectives are continuing to run through several lines of enquiry as investigations continue, and will conduct physical searches when required,” they said.

“Police are continuing to appeal for any information about Pheobe’s whereabouts.

“For investigative reasons, there is no further information available.”

The news comes one day after police announced no physical searches for Pheobe remain ongoing.

The 17-year-old was last heard from on May 15, when she was due to board a plane from Bundaberg to Western Australia.

She was planning to fly to Perth in Western Australia to spend time with her boyfriend but failed to check in.

There were no sightings of her at Bundaberg Airport.

She has also not contacted friends or family, and her bank accounts have gone untouched.

Wood shares a dilapidated home in the small town of Gin Gin, about 50km from Bundaberg, with Bishop and Tanika Bromley.

The home became a crime scene, as well as a Hyundai ix35 car Bishop is believed to have travelled to the airport in.

Wood and Bromley have been charged over unrelated alleged weapons offences.

Police had also begun searching a dense patch of bushland in the Good Night Scrub National Park.

Cadaver dogs were deployed and forensics teams in blue dust suits were seen bagging items of interest during the search.

The search was suspended a week ago, with police on Wednesday confirming no physical searches remain ongoing.
