Two men have been charged with torture in connection to the incident last Thursday.

Police allege 26-year-old North Lakes man Billy John Howard and 38-year-old Sippy Downs man Anthony Thomas Perrett tortured Burow between August 20 and 26 at a Lorimer Terrace unit complex in Kelvin Grove.

The court heard mobile phone evidence included photos of Burow being “severely beaten”.

An address on Kokoda Ave in Bli Bli, an hour north of where Burow lives, was declared a crime scene after what police described as Burow’s “out of character” disappearance.

During a search of the property, officers reportedly found a burnt mobile phone, zip ties, burnt alcohol wipes and a handwritten note with the address of Burow’s parents inside a fire pit.

The court was also told of an alleged FaceTime call in which a witness claimed to have seen Burow being beaten with “weapons and instruments”.

Both men are not facing any charges in relation to his disappearance.
