According to police, the alleged attacker left the scene after the dispute then returned a short time later in his Mitsubishi Outlander and deliberately struck the man with the vehicle before driving off.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and treated the victim for life-threatening head and abdominal injuries.
He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where he remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene was declared, and police quickly located the vehicle and its driver to nearby Caribou Dr.
The alleged offender, who is from Queensland, was taken into custody without incident.
Dashcam footage from McGrady’s vehicle, which allegedly captured the entire incident, has been seized by investigators.
He faced Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday, charged with attempted murder.
His defence claimed that the father-of-two had been walking along Fernvale Rd to meet his partner and two children at a park when he was allegedly threatened with a knife by a man.
The court heard he then returned home to collect his SUV and a tree branch in order to defend his family.
On his way back to the park, he allegedly spotted the same man walking along Fernvale Rd.
The police allege McGrady then drove at the man, hitting him before fleeing the scene.

Police believe the two men were not known to each other.
McGrady was granted bail. Investigations are ongoing.
