An elderly man is fighting for life after being hit by a truck outside a private hospital in Brisbane.

The man, aged in his 80s, was struck by a truck outside the Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower about 6.15am on Friday.

Paramedics, including a High Acuity Response Unit, rushed to the man’s aid and treated him for arm, led and abdominal injuries.

He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition.
