Elderly hatchback driver killed in collision on Brisbane road

The man died at the scene.

An elderly driver has died after his hatchback collided with another car in Brisbane on Saturday night.

The 83-year-old Deagon man was the sole occupant in a Nissan Micra when he collided with a Subaru Outback SUV on Sir Samuel Griffith Dr at Mount Coot-tha about 7:30pm.

The Deagon man died at the scene.

The Subaru driver, a 36-year-old Taigum woman, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with dashcam vision of the events leading up to the crash is urged to contact police.
