Man seriously injured in collision on motorway

A man has been seriously injured in a collision on a NSW motorway.

Police say a truck and a car collided on the M1 near Mooney Mooney Bridge in the state’s Central Coast Region about 9.50am on Monday.

The impact of the crash caused the truck to roll onto its side.

The driver, a man believed to be in his 30s, was treated by paramedics before being airlifted to the Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

No one else was injured.

The ​crash has caused major delays for motorists​, with all northbound lanes and one southbound lane of the motorway closed for several hours.

The southbound lane has since reopened however the northbound lanes remain closed.

Traffic remains impacted and drivers have been urged to avoid the area if possible.

Woman killed on mobility scooter

A woman has died after she was hit by a car while on her mobility scooter.

The 66-year-old was hit by a white Landcruiser at the intersection of Kroombit St and Gladstone Rd in ​

​was taken to Rockhampton Hospital where she later died.

The Landcruiser driver, a 67-year-old man, remained at the scene and is assisting police.

“Investigations are ongoing,” Queensland Police said.

Anyone with any information, CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.

Father killed in freak hiking accident

A father has been killed when he when he slipped and fell from a cliff after trying to pick up a piece of rubbish.

Stephen Queen has been remembered as a proud father and loyal friend following a fatal freak accident at Morialta Conservation Park in South Australia on Saturday afternoon.

The 34-year-old was hiking along a trail when he jumped the fence to grab a water bottle that had been littered.

However the father-of-one slipped and fell to his death.

Katherine Queen was on her way home when she got the call about her brother.

“(They told me) there had been a terrible accident and my brother had passed away,” she said.

Katherine told 7NEWS her brother had hiked the trail multiple times before.

He would visit the conservation park every week and was in his final year of a science degree at university.

He was also a father to an eight-year-old girl.

“He was passionate about the enviornment, he was passionate about climate and our society and of course he would be trying to get ... litter off the ground,” she said.

“I think everything he did was for (his daughter) and I know she knows that.”

Police are investigating Stephen’s death.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Truck crash causes major traffic chaos on motorway

A truck crash has caused major traffic delays on a NSW motorway.

The vehicle rolled onto its side on the M1 Pacific Mwy at Mooney Mooney in the state’s Central Coast region about 10am on Monday.

At least one person has been taken to hospital but its unclear what condition they are in.

All northbound lanes of the motorway have been closed with traffic being diverted onto the Old Pacific Hwy from Calga.

One southbound lane is also closed.

“Traffic is heavy in both directions, so expect delays and exercise caution,” Live Traffic NSW said.

Sydney train lines resume after earlier incident

Delays are beginning to ease on Sydney’s train network following an earlier incident in the city’s inner west.

It’s believed a person was to hit by a train near Flemington train station about 5.30am on Monday.

The North Shore & Western, Northern, Leppington & Inner West, Liverpool & Inner west, Airport & South line and Blue Mountains lines were all impacted by the ongoing incident.

All six train lines have now reopened.

“Residual delays will continue on the T1 North Shore & Western Line, T2 Leppington & Inner West Line and T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line for the remainder of the morning peak period,” Transport for NSW said.

Man dies after falling five storeys from unit balcony

A man has fallen to his death after jumping from a fifth storey balcony of a unit block in Sydney’s inner east.

Police were inititally called to a grocery store on Devonshire St in Surry Hills about 8.05pm on Sunday following reports of a robbery.

Officers were told a masked man had threatened a staff member with a knife before stealing cash and leaving the store with a woman.

Following investigations police attended a unit block on Belvoir St in Surry Hills about an hour later.

When officers entered the building a man, who was believed to be involved in the earlier alleged armed robbery, ran from police towards a balcony before jumping off and falling five storeys.

He was given medical assiatnce by police before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he later died.

The man has not yet been formally identified but he is believed to be aged in his 40s.

A 21-year-old woman who allegedly closed a unit door on officers after the man ran from police was also arrested.

She was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, destroy or damage property less than $2,000 and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

The woman was refused bail to appear before court on Monday.

“A crime scene has been established and a critical incident team from Inner West Police Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident,” NSW Police said.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Man seriously injured in collision with B-double truck

A man has been seriously injured in a collision with a B-double truck in rural Queensland.

Police say a white Mazda and a truck were travelling on the Bruce Hwy near Sandy Pocket Rd in Sandy Pocket, about 104km south of Cairns, when they crashed on Sunday afternoon.

The Mazda driver, a man in his 20s, was airlifted to the Cairns Hospital with serious injuries.

The truck driver, a man in his 40s, was not injured.

“Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) are ongoing,” Queensland Police said.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Commuter chaos on major Sydney lines

An incident at a station in Sydney’s inner west is causing major delays for commuters.

A person is believed to have been hit by a train near Flemington train station early on Monday morning.

The North Shore & Western, Northern, Leppington & Inner West, Liverpool & Inner west, Airport & South line and Blue Mountains lines have all been impacted.

Commuters have been told to allow for plenty of extra travel time.

“Services may be less frequent, trips may take longer than usual and stops may change at short notice,” Transport for NSW said.

“Please listen for announcements and check information screens before getting on trains.”

New details emerge after three people found unresponsive in home

New details have emerged about the relationship between the trio found unresponsive in a Blue Mountains home.

Two men and a woman were found at a home on Myall Av in Leura, an hour and a half’s drive west of Sydney, about 7.30am on Sunday.

The men, both aged 37, were discovered with multiple stab wounds and were taken to hospital in serious but stable conditions.

A woman, believed to be in her 60s, was also found unconscious and was taken to Blue Mountains District Hospital in a critical condition.

The two men are believed to be brothers and the woman is thought to be their mother.

While both men had stab wounds their mother did not, and police are now investigating whether her injuries were self-inflicted.

It’s understood both adult children had intellectual disabilities and that the woman’s partner raised the alarm.

All three remain in hospital.
