A woman was trapped in a car beneath a truck following a multi-vehicle collision on a Sydney motorway.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash on the M7 approaching the M4 at Eastern Creek just after 9am.
A woman in her 20s was stuck in a vehicle which slammed into the back of a truck and became lodged underneath.
The woman has been freed but her condition is unknown.
It is believed she has suffered pelvic and leg injuries and will be airlifted to hospital.
Two other people suffered minor injuries.
All northbound lanes are closed on the motorway and traffic is heavy, according to Transport for NSW.
Motorists are being diverted off the M7 onto The Horsley Dr and Wallgrove Rd.
“Also consider using Elizabeth Dr and Mamre Rd,” the department said.
At least one person is dead and 29 others are injured after magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck Turkey’s northwestern province of Balikesir, causing more than a dozen buildings to collapse, officials say.
The earthquake, with an epicentre in the town of Sindirgi, sent shocks that were felt some 200km to the north in Istanbul - a city of more than 16 million people.
An elderly woman died shortly after being pulled out alive from the debris of a collapsed building in Sindirgi, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya told reporters. Four other people were rescued from the building.
Yerlikaya said a total of 16 buildings collapsed in the region - most of them derelict and unused. Two mosque minarets also tumbled down, he said.
None of the injured were in serious condition, the minister said.

A man has been charged following a police pursuit across multiple suburbs in Sydney.
Police were called to the intersection of Oberon St and Arden St in South Coogee about 11pm on Sunday after a red hatchback and a black sedan collided.
The hatchback driver drove off without exchanging details with the other driver.
Officers later found the hatchback on Canberra St in Randwick and tried to get the driver to stop.

The car then did a u-turn and travelled north bound along Anzac Parade.
Road spikes were deployed at the intersection of Anzac Pde and Gardeners Rd but the car allegedly continued towards Oxford St inSurry Hills.
Police briefly stopped the pursuit before continuing again on Liverpool St in the CBD where the vehicle is alleged to have continued along Elizabeth St before heading north along the Cahill Expressway and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The pursuit continued north on the Pacific Hwy at North Sydney before stopping at the intersection of the Pacific Hwy and Ray St inTurramurra.
The car finally stopped on the highway about 11.50pm and the driver, a 32-year-old man, was arrested.
He underwent a roadside drug test which returned an alleged positive reading.
The man was then charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, not give particulars to other driver and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

Two men have been seriously injured in a home invasion in Melbourne’s west.
A man armed with a knife entered a home on Ridley St, Albion, about 8.10pm on Sunday.
The occupant of the home, an 84-year-old man, was alerted to the intruder’s prescence after his dog started barking.
The offender allegedly demanded the elderly man hand over his car keys and when he refused, he punched the victim in the face.

He confronted the offender but was stabbed multiple times.
The man managed to overpower the intruder and held him down until police arrived.
The 50-year-old was taken to hospital in a serious condition, while the intruder, believed to be aged in his 40s, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
