By now, we all know the importance of eight hours sleep, regular exercise, a diet consisting mainly of wholefoods and plenty of water.
But in a world where we are constantly bombarded by TikTok wellness trends, the latest fitness craze, a new diet or approach, it can be hard not to feel overwhelmed when it comes to self-care — and give up before you really get started.
New research backs this up. Leading supplement brand Blackmores found a staggering 63 per cent of Australians say they’ve lost sight of their original health goals after chasing a new trend, with Gen Z being the most affected.

With this in mind, Best Picks sat down with Keep It Cleaner (KIC) CEO Laura Henshaw to discuss the wellness habits that she has learned really work — and the products she swears by.
According to Laura, one of the best things to do when you want to be successful with a wellness approach is block out all of the noise:
“I have found that leaning into the seeasons of life and not aiming for a ‘perfect’ balance makes it a whole lot easier,” she tells Best Picks.
“I focus on doing what I can with what I have each day — sometimes that is just enough time for a five-minute guided breathing meditation, and other days it might be a few hours to get outside in nature with a good book.”
This simple practice is what Laura — and Blackmores — define as “habit stacking”.
The idea is easy. You look at one thing you’re already doing and “stack” something else good on top of it.
For example, you might already drink a glass of water when you first wake up before you reach for any tea or coffee.
The idea of “habit stacking” is you put something else good and easy on top of that, whether that be gratitude journalling, oil pulling or simply a few deep breaths.
Before you know it, you have a full-blown, easy-to-practice wellness regime — and you’ll feel and look better for it.
“Don’t put pressure on yourself to overhaul your life or make big changes,” Laura says.
“Focus on making small changes (this is also much more sustainable). I find habit stacking works really well for me, and it is a great way to turn something I am already doing into a new habit that supports my health and helps me feel good.”
One of Laura’s top habits she has “stacked” on recently to her well-being regime is adding Blackmores’ new Rapi-Melt vitamins into her daily routine.
Instead of forcing yourself to swallow tablets on the daily, the Rapi-Melts dissolve in your mouth without any water.
There are currently four available — Iron, Energy B12, Immune and Nails, Skin and Hair — all of which aim to target different things.
“I love how easy they make it to take vitamins on the go,” Laura tells Best Picks.
“As they dissolve in your mouth, no water is needed and they taste really good too. I keep them in my handbag.”
