Radio and TV personality Sami Lukis has unveiled a surprise new look during a live TV appearance on The Morning Show.

The popular star was joined by hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies and journalist Joe Hildebrand in a segment to discuss a series of controversial news headlines.

But while many are used to seeing Lukis’ trademark long, curled hair, she sported a very different look for the on-air appearance.

The TV favourite’s hair had been styled long and very straight, and her fashionable clear glasses completed her new makeover.

Lukis’ transformation lead one The Morning Show viewer to say they “barely recognised her!”

During the segment, Lukis criticised William, Prince of Wales, for not attending the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia.

“Well it was a ridiculous move and really an oversight,” she said.

“I don’t know, that video - rolling out the daughter, the token? I don’t know, that didn’t sit right with me.

“He absolutely should have been there, Kylie - he’s the president of the association. The one question everyone is asking is whether if was the men’s team, would he have turned up the men’s final?

“The argument is that it’s such a long way to go for a short time. But buddy, no-one’s going to believe that you’d be sitting a the back of bus. The last I hear, first class was pretty spesh for that 24-hour journey.”
