This week Apple has launched four handsets in the iPhone 17 range — iPhone 17, Air, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max.

There are two ways to get a new iPhone, either buy it outright or get on a phone plan.

The first option means you own it outright sooner rather than later but the second option is more wallet-friendly.

Telstra, Optus and Vodafone are the only telcos offering the iPhone 17 range on a plan. So if you want to pair the latest Apple phone with another telco besides the Big Three, you will need to buy your device outright.
