Here are the most common numbers, and the ones you want to avoid.

Almost half of Australia’s adult population is expected to buy a ticket in Thursday’s Powerball draw, as it jackpots to a staggering $150 million.

Joining Matt Shirvington at Brekky Central on Sunrise on Thursday, Hobdell said Powerball fever was gripping the nation.

The “hot” numbers are: 17, seven, 11, two, three, nine, 19, and two.

The “cold” numbers are: 31, 33, 34, 26, 15, one, 14, and 16.

“It’s going to be a huge and exciting draw tonight,” Hobdell said.

“To give a scale of excitement on last week’s draw, we did see 7000 tickets sold in a single minute around that 5.46pm mark,” she said.

“We can’t wait to see if we have a winner tonight.”

Hobdell said anyone with tonight’s winning numbers should contact The Lott straight away — so they can confirm the life-changing win.

“There certainly would be a lot of celebrations, as you’d be a newly minted millionaire,” Hobdell said.

The current jackpot is the second biggest ever in Australia. It follows five weeks with no Division One winners.

If you’re a registered user and your prize is more than $40 million, a representative from The Lott will phone you “immediately after the draw” to take you through the claims process.

However, if you’re not a registered player, and you’re holding a winning ticket, lottery officials will not be able to contact you.
