“There’s been a lot of talk about the haircut, are you trying to turn back the clock? Getting ready for a new film role?” Woiwod asked the Oscar winner.
Pitt confirmed it was for a movie role but explained: “I just finished the thing.”
“This was for a job I just got off of in New Zealand, we shot in New Zealand,” he said.

Pitt also joked he was “in the hood” close to Australia during the shoot.
F1 stars Pitt as a former Formula 1 driver returning to the track to compete against the titans of the sport.
Woiwod asked the star about the first car he drove.
Pitt revealed his first car was a Buick Centurion, made by General Motors between 1971 and 1973 and which regularly features in American films.
“It was smoke on the inside, smoke on the outside — it’s nothing something you want to drive or ever want to see again,” Pitt said.
Woiwod then asked if Pitt would attend the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix next March.
“I’ve love to. I’d love to hit them all,” Pitt said of the F1 circuit.
“We love the sport so much. We love what these guys do ... they played such a big part in this (movie).
“They all opened the doors for us. The drivers. The teams. We couldn’t have done it without them.”

F1 is an Apple original film, and Woiwod also spoke to Apple CEO Tim Cook on the red carpet.
“This is the biggest film we have ever done. It is so exciting to be here in New York to unveil it,” Cook said.
“It’s awesome to participate in it. I am so proud to be involved in it.
“I love the stars and some of the drivers are the best athletes in the world.
“They are top-class athletes.”
