Brisbane defender Noah Answerth is set to be sidelined for the rest of the season after suffering a torn Achilles in the 37-point win over Carlton on Friday night.
Answerth collapsed in a heap after his left leg gave way when he tried to accelerate during the second term.

He immediately looked back, thinking something had caused it but there was no contact.
It had all the hallmarks of a serious Achilles injury, which the club later confirmed was the likely diagnosis.
Answerth was taken from the field in the hands of trainers, and it even looked like he said to them “it popped”.
The club confirmed at half-time that the injury was a suspected torn Achilles.
Answerth was in good spirits despite the shattering injury, telling boundary commentator Mitch Cleary, “I’ll see you next year.”
Captain Lachie Neale was shattered when told of the injury after the match.
“That is shattering. I didn’t know. That is disappointing. He’s been unbelievable for us this year,” Neale told Channel 7.
“We have had a couple of hard-luck stories over the years so we are used to it. We will wrap our arm around him.
“The game goes on and someone will come in and play a role like him.
“It is unfortunate because at the start of the year he said he wanted to put a full year tot he’s had injuries throughout his career.
“Welove him as a player most importantly and what he brings on the field. He will be sorely missed.”
As soon as replays rolled of injury, Channel 7 commentator Luke Hodge feared the worst.
“He went to take off and his leg just gave way. He’s turned around to run ... as he’s pushed off that foot, it’s just given way,” he said.
“You hear what people who’ve torn an Achilles have said and they say ‘it feels like someone kicked you or shot you’.
“(He) turned around and no one was there.”
The 25-year-old has had his fair share of injuries over the course of his career, but had featured in every game this year.
“It’s a disaster for them,” Hodge continued.
“He had a lot of groin issues a couple of years ago. As you can see the tape heavily on shoulders. He’s had his fair share of injuries in the early part of his career.
“He’s one of those workhorses that the club just love. He will do anything for his teammates.”
Port Adelaide forward Todd Marshall and Essendon big man Sam Draper both suffered the same injury this year.
“That’s heartbreaking if that’s the case. That’s 12 months,” Kane Cornes added.
Carlton also had their own injury issues with Orazio Fantasia limping off with a hamstring issue.
It’s the latest in a long list of soft-tissue injuries for the classy forward, who is out of contract at season’s end and faces an uncertain future.
