Geelong premiership player Gary Rohan and wife Madi are “finally home” with their newborn son after a dramatic arrival and first few days in the world.
The couple announced the birth of Hugo on Sunday night.
He is their second child together, after son Gus was born early last year, but it took some time for the family of four to be reunited.

Hugo was born early and needed around-the-clock care in hospital.
“It’s finally home time with our baby boy!” the Rohans wrote.
“After a sudden and premature arrival, what felt like the longest week and a bit in NICU, and an emergency admission to the Royal Children’s — we are just so blessed to finally take you home and start this little life of yours, Hugo.”
The Rohans endured a difficult journey to parenthood, with Madi suffering a miscarriage in their first year of marriage.
They fell pregnant again and celebrated the safe arrival of Gus in early 2024.
Hugo is Rohan’s fifth child, sharing two surviving children with his first wife Amie.
The then couple lost a daughter in 2018 when Bella survived but her twin Willow died five hours after birth from anencephaly, a fatal neural tube defect.
Rohan’s new addition comes towards the end of his first AFL season on the sidelines.
A 2022 premiership winner, the speedster suffered a painful end to his career last year.
He suffered a fractured skull in a VFL final as he pushed to be recalled to the Cats’ AFL side as they chased a grand final berth.
Rohan was delisted in the aftermath of their preliminary final defeat and flagged his desire to find a new club, even moving to allay any concerns about his recovery.
“The boots definitely aren’t hung up yet (don’t worry, my head is cherry ripe!) as I still have more to give to this game and hope that my AFL career continues,” he said.
The 34-year-old laced up the boots for Port Fairy in 2025 but suffered a fractured shoulder earlier this month.
