Another Carlton arch-rival has met with the club’s favourite son Jack Silvagni.
First Collingwood was circling the in-demand 27-year-old, and now it has been revealed that Essendon have been knocking on the door.
Silvagni is Blues royalty, and he has reportedly met with Bombers coach Brad Scott in recent days.

“It’s enough to make Carlton hearts break,” said 7NEWS chief AFL reporter Mitch Cleary.
“I expect Silvagni will also meet with the Western Bulldogs in the coming days.”
Silvagni, the son of Stephen and grandson of Sergio, is a third generation Blues player.

Stephen is a dual premiership player, a five-time All-Australian, an Australian Football Hall of Famer, and full-back in the AFL team of the century.
His nickname is SOS (son of Serge), with his father, Serge, also a dual premiership player at Carlton and a Carlton Hall of Famer.
Jack Silvagni has a four-year offer on the table at the club his family proudly represented, but he is also testing the waters as a free agent to see what else is out there in the market.
The questions about Silvagni’s future come as the club prepares to lose superstar big man Tom De Koning.
De Koning is expected to join St Kilda on a mega-deal worth which has blown the Blues out of the water, but it is expected they will do everything in their power to keep Silvagni.
Silvagni will miss the rest of the season with an ongoing groin injury. But the club is desperate for him to stay during a tumultuous time.
“I want to be really clear - he’s a very important player for us. We’re certainly hoping he plays out the rest of his career with us,” coach Michael Voss recently said.
“Jack’s had a really important role shift this year. It’s been a real win for us to see where he’s gone from forward to back.”
But Silvagni may soon not be Voss’s concern.
The club held a marathon board meeting on Wednesday with the coach’s future at the top of the agenda.
All aspects of the football department were also discussed with jobs of assistants and football boss Brad Lloyd also under threat.
