A man has been charged with attempted murder in a domestic violence incident following an alleged shooting leaving a 22-year-old man critically injured with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Strike Force Canova was formed after the young man was allegedly shot by the other man at a home on Orara Way in Nana Glen, about 30km north of Coffs Harbour, NSW, on Saturday, just after 8.30pm.
He’s also accused of illegally possessing and using a firearm, having ammunition without a licence, stalking and intimidating with intent to cause fear, and drink driving.

Police were told an argument between two men escalated before one allegedly opened fire.
The victim was treated by paramedics before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital.
The victim remains in a critical but stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery.
About 30 minutes after the alleged incident, highway patrol officers arrested a 20-year-old man after stopping an SUV on Carrall Cl in Coffs Harbour.
A rifle was seized from the vehicle for forensic examination, police said.
The man was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.
He was later refused bail.
