A child is fighting for life after being hit by a car while riding an e-scooter.

The six-year-old boy was riding along Musgrove Crescent in Doonside, Western Sydney, when he was struck about 3pm on Friday.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics for serious injuries before being rushed to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
