Meghan and Harry reportedly ‘repulsed’ by royals fawning over Donald Trump during State visit to UK

One moment in particular left them disgusted.

Prince Harry and wife Meghan were reportedly repulsed by the behaviour of the royal family during Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK, with one moment in particular leaving them disgusted.

Led by King Charles and ably assisted by a glowing Princess of Wales and the rest of the senior members of the family, the US President and First Lady Melania were treated to the full force of British pageantry, including the largest military ceremonial welcome for a State visit in living memory.

Mr Trump is the first elected politician to be given the privilege twice and made little secret of his delight with being at the centre of all the pomp and ceremony.

“This is truly one of the highest honours of my life,” he said.

But the Sussexes were less than impressed.

There was already no love lost between Harry and Meghan and the Trumps, after run-ins with the President in the past, but this latest UK visit has added fuel to the flames.

Meghan has previously labelled Mr Trump “misogynistic” and “divisive” while Mr Trump has called her “nasty” and said Harry is “whipped”.

Commenting on the cloud hanging over Harry’s US visa due to his admission of drug use, President Trump in February said he wouldn’t deport the prince.

“I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible,” Mr Trump said.

An investigation had been launched into whether Harry received preferential treatment after he admitted to having used cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms in his memoir.

But he was far more complimentary about the Princess of Wales and clearly enchanted by her beauty, remarking on it a number of times during the State visit.

Dressed in a golden gown and wearing Princess Diana’s tiara, she was seated next to him at a lavish State banquet held at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.

He hailed Kate as “so radiant and so healthy and so beautiful”. And, he said something similar as she greeted him and Melania with William, Prince of Wales, at the start of the state visit.

“You’re so beautiful, so beautiful”.

Mr Trump appeared to take a veiled swipe at Harry during his speech in front of high-profile guests at the State banquet.

The US President told host King Charles that he had a “remarkable son in His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales” and called him “really amazing”, predicting he would enjoy “an unbelievable amount of success in the future”.

But he completely snubbed Harry, making no mention of the fifth in line to the throne.

“Harry and Meghan can’t believe what they’re seeing,” a California-based insider told royal reporter Rob Shuter, adding they were “repulsed”.

“The pomp, the handshakes, the compliments — to them, it looks like bowing down to a man who has openly insulted them for years.”

Another source told Shuter of the state dinner snub, “It was a dig, no question. Watching the family laugh along felt like betrayal.”

“Harry and Meghan won’t forget this night — or the message it sent.”
