Four Brisbane childcare centres and a primary school have been left scrambling after receiving multiple bomb threats during busy morning drop off hours.

A series of threatening messages and bomb threats were allegedly sent to multiple childcare centres and a primary school in Brisbane’s Bayside on Thursday morning, police said.

Emergency services swung into action, however, nothing was found at any of the targeted locations.

On Thursday afternoon, Bayside detectives charged a 50-year-old Cleveland woman with five counts of making a bomb hoax/falsely inform bomb present.

“Police investigations have concluded that the alleged threats were unsubstantiated, and that there was no risk to any children or the community,” police said.

“Police will further allege the woman was not known to, or connected with, the centres or school.”

The woman will appear at the Cleveland Magistrate’s Court on June 5.
