Just two days before one of the world’s biggest and most renowned electronic dance music festivals was set to get underway, a fire has destroyed the main stage, with organisers scrambling as visitors from around the world arrive.

Tomorrowland, an annual event held in Boom, Belgium, welcomes around 400,000 festival goers from all around the world to party around a larger that life set.

The main stage set, often made up of moving parts around stunning visuals, will not feature in the 2025, event due to the serious damage from a devastating fire.

“Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged,” Tomorrowland said in a statement online.

“We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.”

Tomorrowland said that it would still welcome guests to “DreamVille”, the official campsite for the mammoth event from Thursday.

Just days out from the main event, Tomorrowland said it was working to find a solution.

“We are focused on finding solutions for the festival weekend (Friday – Saturday – Sunday),” the group said in a statement.

“More updates and detailed information will be communicated as soon as possible.”

Video from the furious blaze quickly circulated online, showing the devastating extent of damage caused by the blaze.

The footage shows the icy mountain stage design becoming fully engulfed by flames before being reduced to just metal poles.

Musicians and fans were quick to support festival producers.

“Sending so much love and happy to hear everybody is safe,” artist Martin Garrix said.

“Glad everyone is safe ❤️,” Afrojack wrote.

“We all know how strong Tomorrowland is when it comes to rising above it all,” Alok wrote on Instagram.

“Tml is more than the MainStage! Sending the best energy!”

Event organises have promised to keep festival goers updated as they move rapidly to find a solution within 48 hours of the event getting underway.
