The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the property is linked to Ali Elmoubayed, who police allege is the head of the notorious Alameddine crime network.
Elmoubayed was reportedly en route to Parramatta Local Court at about 9.15am — just minutes before the gunmen opened fire.
No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The father of three had been planning to ask a magistrate for permission to relocate due to safety concerns, after his car was firebombed in the driveway on Sunday.
Shortly after the shooting, a Porsche suspected to be connected to the incident was found engulfed in flames on Beverley Crescent in Chester Hill.
The three alleged offenders — aged 20, 22, and 23 — left Chester Hill in a Hyundai before attempting to abandon the car in Yagoona and flee on foot.
They were tracked down after a dramatic police chase through Sydney’s west and arrested on McMahon Road at about 9.40am.
All three have been charged with conspiring to discharge a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, firing a firearm at a dwelling in relation to organised criminal activity, damaging property by fire exceeding $15,000, and participating in a criminal group.
The 22-year-old man was also charged with acquiring a pistol while subject to a firearms prohibition order.
They were refused bail and are due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
At the time of the shooting, a Ford Territory collided with a motorbike in Greystanes, and police are investigating a potential link with the Merrylands incident.
The vehicle had fake registration plates, and officers found jerry cans filled with fuel, bleach, balaclavas, and a knife inside.
Two 17-year-old male occupants were arrested at the scene after being detained by bystanders.
“The vehicle was driving in an erratic manner and it crashed. It would appear the occupants were going to leave the vehicle,” Detective Superintendent Jason Box said.
“I have no doubt that vehicle was going to be used in a serious criminal offence at some stage — if not the one we’re investigating at the moment.”
The teens were charged with taking and driving a conveyance without the owner’s consent, being an accessory before the fact to property damage by fire exceeding $15,000, custody of a knife in a public place, and participating in a criminal group.
One of them was also wanted over an alleged home invasion in Ermington in February and is now facing further charges.
Both were refused bail to appear in a Children’s Court on Friday.
Police said the matter has been referred to Taskforce Falcon, which has now launched an investigation.
“Taskforce Falcon is led by State Crime Command, with the NSW Crime Commission, to investigate and suppress violent crime in the Sydney metropolitan area,” police said.
