Teenage boy rescued from side of Page’s Pinnacle cliff after becoming stuck while hiking in Gold Coast

The boy became stuck while hiking a steep and narrow ridge line.

A teenager has become stranded on the side of a cliff after becoming stuck while hiking on the Gold Coast.

The teenage boy was on a hiking trail when he became stuck while walking on Page’s Pinnacle, a narrow and steep ridge line between Springbrook and the Numinbah Valley.

Multiple fire fighting crews were called to Pine Creek Rd about 3.45pm, according to a spokesperson.

A rescue 500 helicopter was sent to collect the boy, who paramedics said did not appear to be injured.

Page’s Pinnacle is considered a hard, and in parts dangerous, hike due to its steep incline and sections of rock scrambling required.

Parks Queensland labelled the track as “advanced” and that a moderate to high level of bushwalking experience is recommended.

Wet weather conditions have begun to set in on the region, with a flood watch currently in place for Queensland’s southeast ahead of heavy rainfall predicted in the area.
