The boy was trapped before being freed by firefighters.

A teenager is fighting for life after crashing his car into a house south of Brisbane.

The 17-year-old boy was driving on Warrill View Peak Crossing Rd in Ipswich when his car left the road and crashed into a house about 1pm on Thursday, police said.

He was initially trapped inside the car wreckage, before being freed by the Queensland Fire department in a “prolonged extrication”.

The boy was treated for serious, life-threatening injuries by high acuity paramedics and airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition
