Teenage boy, 17, killed in Albion Park motorbike crash

The boy later died from his injuries in Wollongong Hospital.

A teenage boy has tragically died after crashing his motorbike on a busy street.

Emergency services were called to Terry Street, Albion Park, in NSW’s Illawarra region, about 7.50pm on Friday to reports of a crash.

Officers and police dogs arrived at the scene to find a motorcycle had crashed after veering off the road.

The 17-year-old rider was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to Wollongong Hospital, where he later died.

Police have set up a crime scene and detectives have launched an investigation into the incident.

As investigations continue, detectives are urging anyone with dashcam vision, CCTV footage or information about the incident to contact Lake Illawarra Police.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
