Suspect remains on the run after an alleged shooting in Adelaide

“The incident is not random, and the men are known to each other,” SAPOL said.

A third suspect remains on the run after police make two arrests in a suspected shooting in Adelaide’s north.

Police allege the third man was involved with the discharge of a firearm in the northern suburb of Munno Para on Monday.

At about 7.45pm, reports were made by the public about a “disturbance occurring between two groups of men” on Stebonheath Rd, according to SAPOL.

Gunshots were fired, witnesses say.

One vehicle left the scene and was last seen heading towards Brandis Rd, Munno Para.

Police later located two men, who were the suspected targets, none of whom were injured.

Investigations continue with police arresting a 23-year-old man and a 41-year-old man both from Smithfield Plains, about 3km from the location of the suspected shooting.

Police also recovered a firearm, allegedly linked to the arrest, during the search of a Davoren Park home. The firearm will be forensically tested.

“The incident is not random, and the men are known to each other,” SAPOL said.

The 23-year-old man was charged with possessing a firearm without a licence, two counts of discharging a firearm reckless as to harm a person and affray.

The 41-year-old man was charged with possessing a firearm without a licence and affray.

They have both been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
