Two teenagers have been charged and another four are under police guard in hospital after crashing an allegedly stolen car during a high-speed chase, with a balaclava seized from the car.
The stolen dark blue hatchback the boys were travelling in was spotted by police on Erskineville Rd in Sydney’s inner west at about 12.35am on Sunday.
Checks later revealed it had been reported stolen from Mascot sometime between Friday and Saturday.

When police attempted to pull the car over, the 14-year-old driver allegedly sped off, triggering a pursuit.
The chase ended when the hatchback slammed into a pole on Botany Rd in Mascot, about 15 minutes away.
CCTV footage captured the hatchback hurtling down the street at high speed before the violent crash, which sent debris flying across the road.
Photos from the scene show the front of the car completely crushed and the windscreen shattered.
Six teenagers — five aged 14 and one 15 — fled the scene but were arrested nearby.
The driver was treated for stomach pain and taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
The other five teenagers, uninjured, were also taken to hospital as a precaution.
Two 14-year-old boys have since been discharged from hospital and arrested.
They have each been charged with one count of being carried in a conveyance taken without the owner’s consent.
Both were granted conditional bail and are due to appear before a children’s court on August 4.
The other four remain under police guard while investigations continue.
Following a forensic examination of the car, police seized a balaclava, gloves and mobile phones.
Police have established a crime scene and are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
