Two hikers have been rescued near Mount Hotham in Victoria after more than 50cm of snow fell in the area over the weekend.
The operation followed additional rescue efforts by police and SES on Saturday night when 13 people became trapped in their cars on the Blue Rag Range Track near Dargo High Plains Rd.
A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with minor injuries after his car rolled.

Inspector Tracy Johnston said it’s not believed anyone else was still trapped in their cars but the search will continue to make sure.
“We believe that the snowfall was probably a bit heavier than was anticipated and that may have led to perhaps people not being as prepared as they may have been,” she said.
As of Monday evening, 67cm of snow had fallen at Mount Hotham.

Dargo Highway Plains Rd is closed to all traffic due to the extreme weather conditions.
It’s not expected to reopen until after the King’s Birthday weekend.
Those heading to the snow have been warned to monitor extreme weather conditions and potential road closures.
“Snow-goers are warned to obey road closures signs to allow emergency services to continue their search of the area to identify if there are any further people who require rescue,” police said.
“Police are urging people to heed weather warnings, monitor conditions and ensure their vehicles are appropriately equipped for the conditions.”
