No arrests have been made and a manhunt for the attacker is on ongoing.

The attack comes just one day after another stabbing incident at a shopping centre less than 30 minutes southwest of Broadmeadows.

A 33-year-old man was set upon at the Central Square Shopping Centre in Altona Meadows, about 8pm on Saturday.

The man was pushed to the ground by a group of people and slashed on the arm, 7NEWS reports.

He was left with significant injuries.
