Adelaide man, 36, charged after police allegedly find child abuse material and weapons during raid

A 36-year-old man has appeared in court.

A 36-year-old man has appeared in court over the alleged discovery of child exploitation material and weapons including gel blasters, a crossbow and slingshot at a home in Adelaide.

South Australian detectives raided the property in the city’s southern suburbs on Tuesday following a tip-off.

The accused was charged with child exploitation material offences after experts looked through his electronic devices.

“The search also uncovered two gel blasters, a crossbow, a slingshot, various knives and machetes and a ballistic vest,” SA Police said.

The man is also facing a number of weapons charges and appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Wednesday, where he was refused bail.

He will return to court at a later date.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers.
