A rideshare driver has allegedly been kidnapped and threatened with a knife in Brisbane‘s north.
It came after police allegedly spotted a man jumping from the rooftop of a building while responding to reports of a trespasser.
The alleged offender tried to escape in the rideshare vehicle before officers pulled their guns and arrested him, police said.

The rideshare driver was uninjured.
The dramatic incident happened as officers were patrolling around Arana Hills, about 12km northwest of the CBD, after reports of a person trespassing at three separate properties between 10am and 11am on Wednesday.
Officers saw a man jump from the rooftop of a Nepean Ave business and enter a rideshare car on the street, police said.
The man was allegedly armed with a knife and verbally threatened the driver.
Police rushed to pull the driver, who was unharmed, to safety.
It is then alleged the man moved into the empty driver’s seat and threatened police with the knife.
Police said the officers pulled their firearms and ordered the man to surrender.
A 45-year-old man from Annerley, a suburb about 6km south of Brisbane CBD, was arrested and later charged with five offences including kidnapping and possession of a knife.
He was refused bail in a brief court appearance on Wednesday and will next face Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 14.
