Victorian’s in need will be eligible to receive a $100 Power Saving Bonus payment starting this week.
The one-off payment is designed to provide support to eligible Victorians and to encourage them to compare compare energy offers to save money.
“So many families are doing it tough and we’re on their side by delivering real help, right now,” Premier Jacinta Allan said.

Here’s how you can claim the bonus payment.
How to apply
Eligible Victorians can apply through the Victorian Energy Compare (VEC) website where they will be prompted to add their details, including name, email address and phone number.
For people who cannot access the website, help can be found on 1800 000 832.
Successful applications should receive the payment within 2–3 weeks of submission, while cheque payments to eligible applications should be received within 4–6 weeks
Only one $100 Power Saving Bonus is available per household.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the $100 Power Saving Bonus, Victorian households need to hold a valid concession card and have a recent residential electricity bill.
Eligible concession cards include:
- Health Care Card
- Pensioner Concession Card
- Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card
- Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card
Those who are renting, living in retirement villages or caravan parks are also eligible if they hold an eligible concession card and an energy account with a matching address.
Victorians who live in a household with multiple concession cardholders will only be eligible for one payment per household.
Households that are off the grid and do not have a residential energy account are not eligible.
