Speaking on Instagram, Swift said: “I wanted to show you something. This is my brand-new album, Life of a Showgirl.”
The album is available for pre-order on the singer’s website. No date has been announced for the release of the album.
Speculation about the new music started on Sunday with a suspicious post on official fan account Taylor Nation.
Alongside a carousel of pictures from Swift’s The Eras Tour, the account wrote: “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’.”
In every photo, Swift is wearing an outfit in a shade of orange.
“We’re ready for it,” one person commented.
Fans initially speculated the official announcement would be made on her boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s podcast New Heights.
On Sunday, the podcast’s Instagram account said: “We’re coming back early for a special episode with a VERY special guest”.
It is set to air on August 13 at 7pm US eastern time.
In the photo Kelce is wearing Swift merchandise, alongside his brother and co-host Jason.
Between them is a silhouette, which fans are convinced is Swift. The background is also orange, matching the outfits in the Taylor Nation posts and official website.
But while that led many fans to think the singer would announced the new album on the podcast episode, Swifties are now convinced August 12 is the official day.
Swift was last in Australia in February 2024 for her The Eras Tour.
