“It will be alleged the man was providing babysitting services at the time,” WA Police said in a statement.

Charlton, from Nollamara in Perth’s northern suburbs, has been charged with one count of sexual penetration of a child under 13, four counts of indecent dealing with a child under 13, and four counts of indecently recording a child under 13.

The charges relate to four alleged victims — the youngest aged under two.

Charlton was a teacher until February, when his registration was suspended.

He had also offered babysitting services, advertising them on social media.

He appeared in Perth Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody after failing to secure a bail surety.

Charlton is due to face court again in July.
