Pedestrian critically injured in Ashcroft hit-and-run

Police have released CCTV vision of a car seen driving near the scene of the incident.

A young woman has been critically injured as she was struck by a car in Sydney‘s southwest on Sunday night.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was hit on Maxwells Ave, Ashcroft, about 7.30pm.

She was seriously injured and treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Police have released CCTV vision of a vehicle seen travelling east on Maxwells Ave.

The vehicle is described as a gold-coloured sedan and police are appealing to the driver to come forward.

“An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced,” NSW Police said.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to call Liverpool police or Crime Stoppers.
