The plane was held on the tarmac as paramedics rushed to help.

A passenger has died on a flight from Dubai to Sydney.

The man, aged in his 60s, is understood to have died of natural causes on the plane.

The Emirates flight landed just after 6am into Sydney Airport with passengers held on the plane until paramedics arrived.

Nobody was taken to hospital.

Emirates confirmed the tragedy in a statement.

“Emirates can confirm that a passenger was found unresponsive on board flight EK412 from Dubai to Sydney on 1 July 2025,” a spokesperson said.

“Our cabin crew administered CPR; however, the passenger had sadly passed away.

“Upon arrival, the flight was met by local authorities.

“There was a brief delay in disembarking passengers, and to the flight between Sydney and Christchurch to allow all relevant authorities to complete their investigations.

“Emirates expresses its condolences to the family.”

Sydney Airport was contacted for comment.
