A resident has been found apparently stabbed to death in his own front yard, sparking a murder investigation.

A neighbour found the 57-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his abdomen in the front yard of the home in Napalle St, Warana on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast on Monday.

The shocked neighbour called police about 7.35pm and the man was declared dead at the house, which is less than 200m from Warana Beach.

The death is being investigated under Operation Xray Elting.

Anyone with information or CCTV vision of the area between 11pm Sunday, July 13, and 7.35pm Monday, July 14, is urged to contact police.
