A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a car on a busy road.

The two vehicles crashed near the corner of Elm Grove and Bell Street, Coburg in Melbourne’s inner north, around 7pm on Tuesday.

The male motorcyclist died at the scene.

He has not yet been identified.

The 28-year-old female driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their investigation.

“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing,” police said.
