A man has been seriously injured in a machete attack in Sydney‘s west.

The victim, aged in his 40s, was found on Aurora Drive in Tregear just after 4am on Tuesday.

He was treated by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital with head and hand injuries in a stable condition.

Police were seen outside a nearby unit on Bransfield St where the attack allegedly occurred.

No arrests have been made.
