A young man was set upon by a group of men and stabbed during an alleged targeted attack in Sydney’s southwest.

The 21-year-old was found with three stab wounds to his right thigh on Auburn St, Yagoona at about 8.10pm on Sunday.

Police were told he had been assaulted by a group of about 10 men in O’Neill Park on nearby Nobbs Rd before he crossed the rail corridor to Auburn St.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

“Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident which is believed to be a targeted attack,” NSW Police said.
