A man has been seriously injured in a suspected drive-by shooting in Melbourne‘s southeast.

The victim was found with gunshot wounds on Prince St, Hampton just before midnight on Tuesday.

It is believed the man was shot by a firearm discharged from a car.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“Despite a thorough search of the area the vehicle nor offender were located,” Victoria Police said.

“A crime scene has been established, and the investigation remains ongoing.”

Police believe the shooting was targeted.
