The husband of a successful beauty mogul has been identified as the man found stabbed to death outside a multi-million dollar beach mansion.

A neighbour found Zdravko Bilic, 57, lying unresponsive outside his Napalle St property on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, just 200 metres from Warana Beach, just after 7.30pm on Monday.

He had two stab wounds to his abdomen, Queensland Police said.

Bilic’s wife Gry Tomte runs a popular skincare clinic in Melbourne’s St Kilda and was interstate at the time of the incident.

She became concerned when she couldn’t reach her husband and asked the neighbour to check in.

They then made the grim discovery and alerted police.

Bilic was declared dead at the scene.

“His wife hadn’t heard from him and asked a neighbour to check,” police said. “That’s when he was found deceased.”

The street was shut down as detectives from Operation Xray Elting scoured the scene for evidence.

Police believe the fatal stabbing may have occurred as early as 11pm on Sunday night.

“One of the lines of inquiry is that he may have disturbed a break-in,” a homicide investigator said.

Bilic is understood to have been home alone when he was killed.

“This is an attack that’s happened, and we need to find out why,” police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Detectives urge anyone with information or security vision from the area between 11pm on Sunday, July 13 and 7.35pm on Monday, July 14 to contact police.
