A man has been arrested after the death of a woman in Sydney’s west on Sunday.

Police were called to a unit on Hemphill Ave in Mount Pritchard after reports a woman had been stabbed in the chest.

Paramedics assisted her at the scene but she was unable to be saved. Police believe she was aged in her 60s.

A 28-year-old man was subsequently arrested at the scene. Investigations are ongoing but after initial inquiries police believe the pair were known to each other.
