A young man has been rushed to hospital with serious injures sustained in a shooting on the Gold Coast.

The 21-year-old was shot outside a home in Woodlands Way in Parkwood about 7.50pm on Thursday.

Paramedics treated him outside the home for a significant gunshot wound in his leg and injuries to his hand.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

“Initial inquiries indicate the incident to be targeted and there is not any ongoing threat to the community,” Queensland Police said.

Investigations remain ongoing.
