Multiple suburban streets have been shut down after a car crashed into a gas main.

Suburban streets have been shut down after a car crashed into a high-pressure gas main.

The car was involved in a crash with another vehicle near the intersection of Clifton St and Alexandra St at Booval in Ipswich at about 11.30am on Monday.

One of the vehicles then struck a high-pressure gas main.

“Police have established an exclusion zone around the area with boundaries encompassing Alexandra St, Clifton St, Bergin St and Dudleigh St,” Queensland Police said.

“Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.

“Residents in the exclusion zone are urged to remain inside with all their windows and doors closed.”
