A light plane has made a crash landing in a field on the Gold Coast.

The plane experienced difficulties in the air over Woongoolba, before crashing in a field off Finglas Rd about 9.05am on Friday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and assessed the 39-year-old female pilot, who was the sole occupant of the plane.

She was uninjured and declined transport to hospital.

Police said they were called to an aviation incident at Heckfield Airfield.

“A light plane completed a controlled landing into canfields north of the airfield after failing to take off,” they said.

“This incident will be referred to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for further investigation.”
