Horror day in northern NSW as two killed in separate accidents

A 19-year-old man and a 26-year-old man are dead after two incidents in the state’s north.

Two young men have been killed in separate road accidents in the north of NSW on Friday.

A 19-year-old man died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash in Bundarra, about an hour’s drive north-west of Armidale.

Paramedics and police attended Gwydir River Rd, about 5km south of Bundarra, about 6.35pm on Friday, where they found a Mazda utility had left the road and crashed into a tree.

Earlier, a 26-year-old man died in hospital after a trail bike accident in Moree.

Emergency services were called to Frome St about 11.50am, where they found a trail bike had left the road before crashing into a power pole.

The rider was treated at the scene before being taken to Moree Hospital in a critical condition. Police were notified about 6.30pm that he had died.

Reports on both incidents will be prepared for the coroner.
