A quiet coastal street has become the centre of a homicide investigation after a three-year-old child was found dead inside a beachside home.
Emergency services arrived at the property on Regency Rd in Moore Park Beach, in Queensland’s Bundaberg region, about 4.45pm on Monday following multiple calls over an incident at the address.
The child was declared dead at the scene, chief inspector Grant Marcus said.

“We can confirm at this stage unfortunately there is a child who is now deceased,” Marcus said.
A 32-year-old woman is assisting police with their inquiries. Queensland Police confirmed late Monday that the woman and child were known to each other but were unable to provide anything further on the nature of their relationship, though Marcus later said the woman lived at the premises.
“There is a lady who lives at the house who is currently assisting police with their inquiries,” he said.“Our detectives are going through the process of investigating what’s going on. We’re talking to neighbours, we’re going through the scene to determine what evidence we can identify and to try and make some sense of this horrendous tragedy.
“There’s a lot of people the detectives need to speak to gain an understanding of what’s happened.”
Marcus also confirmed there had been multiple calls to the house, and that there were two other children present at the time who are now “safe and well”.
“That’s probably the only positive I can say out of all of this,” he said.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
