Gunmen target Keilor East home in shooting

A group of gunmen remain on the run after firing multiple shots into a Melbourne home and setting fire to a car in the early hours of Monday morning.

Emergency services rushed to Olivine Rd in Keilor East just before 2am after the home was showered with bullets in what appears to be a targeted attack.

Two residents were inside the property at the time of the shooting but escaped uninjured.

Moments after the shooting, the residents’ car parked across the street was set on fire by the attackers before they fled the scene.

Neighbours told 7NEWS the targeted home is occupied by a group of young people who moved into the area around six months ago and are known to police.

It’s understood around three offenders were involved in the attack and fled the scene immediately afterwards.

Police are continuing their investigation but no charges have yet been laid in relation to the shooting and arson attack.

The incident has left the quiet suburban street shaken, with residents waking to the sound of gunfire and sirens in the early morning hours.
