A Melbourne home has been peppered with bullets in a brazen drive-by shooting, with CCTV showing the terrifying moment unfold in seconds.

Footage exclusively obtained by 7NEWS shows a grey Subaru pulling up outside a townhouse on Collinson St in Keilor Park about 3.45am on Saturday.

A hooded man steps out, armed with a shotgun, and fires two rounds into the home, peppering the garage door.

He then jumped back into the car and fled the scene, with the entire attack lasting less than 20 seconds.

No one was home at the time, but the building is a duplex and neighbours were asleep just metres away.

The getaway car was later found dumped and burnt out on Stadium Dr, about two kilometres away.

Police are investigating if the car was stolen, as the investigation into the shooting continues.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV or dashcam footage, is urged to come forward.
