A dog has been seized by a local council after a vicious attack in Sydney’s south.
Emergency services were called to Mitchell St, Chifley, in Sydney’s beachside southern suburbs just before 1pm on Sunday.
Officers found a five-year-old girl had sustained a bite to the chest from a dog.
“The dog had been in the yard of a property the girl was attending,” police said.

The young girl was treated at the scene by first responders and NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to the Children’s Hospital at Randwick in a stable condition for further treatment.
Randwick City Council have seized the dog and will investigate the circumstances of the incident.
